About Me
Born in the UK, I have lived in New Zealand for almost twenty years. From a very young age, I have always had an enormous passion for the arts and was the assistant stage manager for my first professional show at the age of 15. This led me into the backstage world of theatre and the arts where I found myself immersed in budgets, spreadsheets and the logistical management behind shows and events - with a huge passion for supporting a creative vision come to life.
After finishing my Bachelor of Arts Degree at Victoria University, I chose to specialise in festival/events management and completed my Master of Fine Arts (CP) in 2018. From then, I worked on a number of incredible freelance projects (The Glitter Garden, TAHI Festival) before moving to Capital E’s National Theatre for Children as their associate producer. After working for two years in this role, I then stepped up as the producer of the entire programme - supporting the creation and development of new works for young people touring across New Zealand to 27 centres, where I worked until 2021.
Since then, I have been refining my career as a freelancer to focus on expanding my skillset into larger festivals and corporate event management. This has included continuing to work with TAHI: New Zealand Festival of Solo Performance, CubaDupa and Eat Drink Play. In 2023, I was also very lucky to spend a few months travelling around New Zealand in a campervan with my husband, Corbyn - which was a great experience to look at a new location for us to be based moving forward.
From this trip, we made the decision to move to Christchurch, and I am really excited for this new chapter - moving into full-time work and also being closer to the beautiful mountains and hikes that we love to do on weekends.
In my personal life, I am a very active person and love going to the gym and hiking, and I am currently training for a half marathon in November. I am also incredibly competitive when it comes to board games, and I have recently been learning how to play the ukulele. My drink of choice is a shandy, and my favourite place in the world is by a lake with a good book.
